Norcross

Norcross was established in 1870 after Atlanta entrepreneur John J. Thrasher purchased land along the developing railroad line and named the town for his friend Jonathan Norcross, a former mayor of Atlanta. It became the second city in Gwinnett County and later earned recognition for its historic character, with downtown Norcross becoming the first area in the county placed on the National Register of Historic Places. That early rail-town foundation still shapes the city’s identity today, especially in its walkable historic core.

Norcross has a more tucked-away, historic feel than a lot of metro Atlanta suburbs.
